Our Requirements for Opening a Xonder Account

Here at Xonder we aim to offer our accounts to as many businesses as possible, however there are a few things we need to check first.

We provide both general requirements at the top and more in-depth specific to Sole Traders and Limited Companies just below that.

When opening a business account with Xonder we think it’s best to get to know you a bit better first!

That’s why we ask you to share with us documentation that shows us what you do; this could include a link to your business website, your online marketplace profile or your social media profiles. If you don’t have any of these then we’ll need further documentation to get you set up – which you’ll be able to choose from in the section below.

Here’s a list of the documents we’re happy to accept.

Sole Traders

Personal Identity Documents

- Valid passport
- UK/EU photo driving licence (full or provisional), cannot be used for both photo ID and proof of address
- UK residence card (front and back)
- National EU identity card (front and back)

Please ensure that the document you use is in date.

Proof of Address

- UK/EU photo driving licence (unless already submitted as proof of ID)
- Utility bill
- Bank statement
- Council tax bill
- Mortgage statement
- Any letter from HMRC
- Local authority rent card
- Land registry records
- Official documentation or correspondence from the Home Office or other immigration authority

The document should be dated within the last 12 months and have your current residential address

Proof of Business

As with any financial organisation we are legally required to carry out basic checks to ensure your business exists and trades. Here’s a list of what we are happy to accept:

- Social media links – website URL, LinkedIn profile
- Google map listing
- Utility bill for business premises in the business name
- Signed service/ supplier/ distributor agreement
- Proof of training e.g. CSCS cards
- Signed contract of employment
- Proof of advertising
- Proof of membership or association with relevant professional organisation
- Certification of qualification
- Vehicle signage
- Operator license – Black cab or private hire license
- Invoice with the corresponding bank statement
- Proof of physical premises – Rental Agreement, Lease Agreement or Land Ownership (specific to Trading/ Company Name)
- Photo of business premises
- CSCS card.
- Supplier invoices
- For people who are contracted to work by other companies or agencies – Contracts or agreements either with the companies you work for or with the agencies who find you work.

Limited Companies

For shareholders who own 25% or more of company shares, and anyone with significant control – everything listed below will be required by each of you in order for an account to be set up.

Personal Identity Documents

You’ll need an iOS or Android device to open and manage the account. For Apple devices, you’ll need to be on iOS 12.2 or later and for Android you’ll need to be on 7.0 or later
Maximum account balance is £100k for both limited companies and sole traders
If your business offers services that do not comply with our Eligibility Criteria then unfortunately you cannot sign up with Xonder.

Photo ID Requirements

To ensure the chosen ID is accepted, please make sure that the photo you have taken is clear, was taken on a flat surface and in a well lit environment. If you are still having trouble, ensure the image is in focus, avoid low light conditions, reflections and glare, and make sure the entire document is captured within the photo. This means that all edges of the document align with the borders in the image preview. It is vital that the photo is taken straight on and not from an angle, all information needs to be clear and readable in order for it to be processed and accepted.
